Welcome! Sugar Cookie Shorty is a home-based, Cottage Food Operation, located in Hernando, Mississippi. I am LaNita, and I am a Cookier! That’s a cookie baker/decorator/artist ☺️ I have been a self-taught, home-baker for over thirty years. My husband, Anthony, is my biggest supporter and together we have decided to open our own cookie bus
Welcome! Sugar Cookie Shorty is a home-based, Cottage Food Operation, located in Hernando, Mississippi. I am LaNita, and I am a Cookier! That’s a cookie baker/decorator/artist ☺️ I have been a self-taught, home-baker for over thirty years. My husband, Anthony, is my biggest supporter and together we have decided to open our own cookie business. We are very close to being empty-nesters, with only one of five children left at home. We have 7 grandbabies, so this Nonnie (that’s me), needs a fun way to supplement our income while doing something I love ~ making cookies!
Our home is a clean, smoke-free environment. As a Cottage Food Operation, we are not subject to Mississippi’s food safety regulations, however, we follow all safe food handling guidelines outlined in the Retail Food Code. We use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and we buy local, organic whenever possible.
My love of baking started with cakes and cupcakes. I make all the birthday cakes and even some wedding cakes for our family and extended family. I soon realized that transporting cookies is so much easier than cakes. I have always been kind of “famous” for my chocolate chip cookies, so I decided to try decorating sugar cookies. After many failed attempts, and buying loads of equipment and cookie cutters, I have not only learned the art of decorating cookies, but I have created three distinct sugar cookie recipes that have been tested and flavor approved 😋 I am excited to start this venture along with my husband and our family team cheering us on!

Most all sugar cookies have the same vanilla flavor with vanilla royal icing. As yummy as vanilla is, it’s still… vanilla. At SCS, we offer beautifully decorated cookies with knock-your-socks-off flavor! These are proprietary recipes that can’t be found anywhere else. Most of our custom sugar cookie orders are our yummy vanilla/almond fla

Most of our custom sugar cookie orders are our yummy vanilla/almond flavor, with some secret ingredient flavor enhancers. Seasonally we offer other specialty flavors such as; Strawberry sugar cookies with strawberry/vanilla royal icing, Lemon Zest sugar cookies with lemon/vanilla royal icing, and Almond sugar cookies with vanilla/almond royal icing. Additionally, we have icing flavors such as vanilla/rose and champagne. Homemade Chocolate Chip cookies are always on the menu 🍪 as well.

We can put together a themed cookie kit for any occasion ~ Kits are so much fun because the work of mixing, baking, coloring icing, and more is done for you, but you get to be creative and decorate the cookies yourself! We provide examples and instructions, you provide the FUN!
