Our Terms, Conditions, and Refund Policy

These are the Terms and Conditions for Sugar Cookie Shorty LLC. Information last updated January 20, 2025

Order Payment

You pay, and I’ll bake! I require upfront payment to source your cute cutters, spectacular sprinkles, fabulous food colors, and perfect packaging. Your payment also reserves your delivery/pick-up date!

No-Show Policy

Your cookies are best enjoyed fresh. If you don't show up to the agreed-upon pick-up time, you'll forfeit your order. But take heart—they will be donated to a family in need. Need to reschedule your pick-up? No problem! Please contact us three days before your pickup time.

Refunds

I can offer refunds up to 24 hours after accepting the payment. Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds after that time. The good news is, you get the cookies!

Delivery/Pickup

All orders are for local (Hernando, MS) delivery/pickup only. Mississippi does not allow cottage bakers to ship cookies. I meet all customers with the order at a local, agreed-upon spot and time. We have bulk pick-up days to accommodate most schedules.  This is typically on a Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Change Cutoff

Decisions are tough! But we’re here to help. Order changes can be made until one week prior to delivery. After that, all change requests will be under consideration and a small fee will apply.

Design Inspiration

I love inspo photos! They are just that – inspiring. I prefer pictures of invitations or party decor.  I try not to copy another cookier's work, but I can match the general aesthetic and do something very similar.

Rush Orders

While I can’t accommodate all last-minute orders, I will make my best effort to find time. Orders placed with a turnaround time of under 7 days will incur a fast-track fee. The fee is $15 per dozen ordered.

Price Adjustments

All prices are subject to change. Prices are often dictated by ingredient costs. There may be a price difference in cookies you order depending on my costs, design difficulty or ease, or other factors.  

Product Photography

Say Cheese!! We post photos of client orders to social media profiles. If you do not want your cookies in the spotlight, please let me know at the time you place your order. Secrets are safe with me.

Copycats

Copyright images (think Star Wars and Peppa Pig) are protected and I won’t be able to replicate them with baked goods (who wants a cookie controversy, right?). We can make a similar color palette to match the aesthetic and keep it legal!  You may have spotted a few character cookies on my Facebook page or in our photo gallery, but these were not sold to customers. They were gifts to my grandchildren for their birthdays.

Pictures are Worth a Thousand Words

But they are not always accurate. Colors and lighting in photos may be slightly different than what you may end up with. Also, cookies in photos may not be true to size.

Minimums and Maximums

We do not have an order minimum because I am always baking! As long as we can combine your pickup time with another order, you can order as few as ONE cookie.

We have a maximum of different designs/shapes.  We try to have 4 designs per dozen cookies ordered, with 3 of each design.  On orders of one dozen, we can do up to 6 different designs, with 2 of each design.  Limiting the designs helps to keep your order looking cohesive and pleasing to the eye,

It’s All Yours Now

Once you pick up you order (thanks again, by the way), what happens to your cookies, is all on you! Keep ‘em safe and keep ‘em cool, and out of direct sunlight.  Do not refrigerate them.  For cookie care, please see our Cookie Care page.

Food Allergies

Baked goods are often made with foods that can be known allergens. While I can do my best, I can’t always accommodate allergy-conscious orders. 

Cottage Food Laws

This order has been made in a home kitchen. Our kitchen is not nut-free, egg-free, dairy-free, or gluten-free. Boring disclaimer, but we have to say it per the law. 

In Sickness and in Health

While death will never do us part, you’re consuming food and with the consumption of anything (including that bottle of wine last night), there are inherent risks. Choking hazards, food illnesses, and allergic reactions are possibilities – albeit hopefully far-reaching. Please be cognizant of sprinkles and small children, of allergies and those allergic, and of food safety practices. 

Weather Clause

If pickup is impossible due to inclement weather, your order will be heat-sealed for a later pickup date. Unfortunately, no refunds can be offered due to weather (darn rain, snow, sleet, and hail), but we will make sure your order is kept as fresh as possible!

Bulk Orders

Due to the custom work required for each cookie, we are unable to extend discounts regardless of quantity. If you have a specific budget you are working with, feel free to let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to offer you a solution that fits your budget.

Once you’ve submitted (awesome) payment for your (awesome) order because you’re awesome, you’re accepting the above terms. Which is awesome!
